Rita Steel - Governing Board Member
Rita Steel is the president of the Central and Western United States operations for the professional staffing services of Robert Half International (RHI), the world’s first and largest staffing service specializing in the accounting, finance and information technology fields. Steel graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in accounting and economics. Steel joined RHI in San Francisco in 1987 as a staffing manager, a role in which she assisted Bay Area businesses with their quest to hire the most talented accounting and finance professionals. In a career that has spanned more than twenty years with the company, Steel has worked her way from the ground floor of the firm to the executive ranks, supervising operations of increasing size and revenue along the way. Steel is committed to the development of a strong workforce, an objective she pursues through a variety of initiatives. Steel was first introduced to Women's Initiative in 2005 when she served as a connector, or mentor, at their October 2005 Business Conference. She was so impressed by the organization that she agreed to co-chair the the 2006 Annual Gala, and soon after joined their Board of Directors. Steel is married and the proud mother of two daughters.
