Deborah Messemer
Deborah Messemer serves as the managing partner of the San Francisco Office of KPMG which is comprised of more than 45 partners and 600 employees. Debbie’s primary responsibilities include leading and representing the firm in the marketplace, development of marketplace strategies, overseeing the delivery of high quality client service, and attracting and retaining key resources. Previously, she led KPMG’s Northern California Investment Management and Funds Practice. She serves as audit engagement partner for banks, private equity firms, venture capital firms, fund-of-funds, investment partnerships, and common and collective investment funds.
Debbie is a periodic instructor of national and regional technical and industry training courses for KPMG.
She is also a regular panelist and speaker on various technical topics for a number of professional organizations, including Financial Executives Institute, Practicing Law Institute, Private Equity Strategic Financial Management Conference, Merrill Lynch Private Equity CFO Conference, and Fisher Center Board (UC Berkeley).
Debbie graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California, Hawaii and Texas State Boards of Accountancy.
Debbie is a member of the Policy Advisory Board for the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics (University of California, Berkeley).
She is active in various community and arts organizations including San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco School Volunteers, the Junior League of San Francisco and Leadership San Francisco Class of 2001, and is a past recipient of KPMG’s Chairman’s Award for outstanding volunteer and community services.
